Exploration & Failure
Exploration & Failure
I explored my interests, and failed at more than one point within that process, but my failures were not crises - they were opportunities to reflect on when I lost myself in my work and what made me excited. Often times my failures allowed me to recognize the direction I was moving wasn't the right way, shifting my course for the better.
Failure is imperative for effective exploration and success.
Some define success as the end result; I get a degree, get a job, make money and buy a house. But to me, success is not the end result, but rather the means to the end. Is the process enjoyable? Do you feel inspired by your work? Are you happy? These are the ultimate means to the end of "success". The rest will come on it's own; I choose to enjoy the process.

Where I am Now, and its Relation to my Process
I am now working within the Public Health - Global Health field under the interdisciplinary skillset of my degree, but also the interests and skills learned in considering Computer Science and Informatics as potential major paths. My "failures" pushed me to develop the in-depth, comprehensive understanding of the interconnectedness of health and well-being with every facet of our society through the Public Health - Global Health major, while also providing me the introductory skillset to the hard skills of data science. I will never trade my education in Public Health, as it is a field that requires an expert to provide a foundation. Conversely, hard skills can be self-taught if needed.
My introduction to hard skills and the subsequent "failure" in furthering those teachings within my college career has brought me to a crossroads of extensive social and political understanding of our society and health, while having the introductory hard skills needed to continue my own teachings.
So, where am I now?
